St Hilda’s Community Services Centre Christmas Hi-Tea
CabbyCare cabbies helped ferry members of the St Hilda’s Community Services Centre  to their Christmas Hi-Tea celebration on 8 December 2012. The cabbies were also invited to participate in the celebrations.
CabbyCare Donates 41 Wheelchairs to Handicaps Welfare Association

CabbyCare cabbies teamed up to donate over 40 wheelchairs, amounting to around $9,500, to the Handicaps Welfare Association (HWA). Two HWA members, Ms Pang San Mui and Ms Lim Yee Li, received brand new wheelchairs on 6 December.

CabbyCare Delivers Hari Raya Cheer

More than 60 CabbyCare cabbies sacrificed their Saturday morning sleep on 4 August to deliver some 440 hampers to needy families who are staying in the Braddell Heights and Serangoon areas in conjunction with the “Do Good Feel Good” event organised by Braddell Heights Community Club Youth Executive Committee in celebration of Hari Raya.
HWA Thanks CabbyCare
In July, the Handicaps Welfare Association (HWA) presented a plaque to CabbyCare in appreciation of the 51 free trips that members had provided wheelchair-bound HWA member, Ms Pang San Mui to and from her home in Ang Mo Kio to IKEA Alexandra daily during a two-month fund-raising exercise.

CabbyCare Sends Groceries to the Homes of Needy NorthLight School's Students

11 CabbyCare members helped 22 NorthLight School students to deliver groceries home as part of the Kindness-On-Wheels programme on 25 July 2012.

St Hilda’s Community Services Centre invited CabbyCare to its Chinese New Year Dinner celebration at Kampong Arang Civic Plaza on 11 February 2012.

 

CabbyCare Celebrates the Lunar New Year Together

CabbyCare members turned out in full force for its annual Chinese New Year Lunch at Qian Xi Restaurant on 11 February 2012. 

 

 

Free Meals and Ang Baos for the Needy

During Chinese New Year, CabbyCare 

in addition to delivering free meals to more than 40needy and elderly residents staying in Geylang Bahru, the members also gave each of them a $20 ang bao and two mandarin oranges out of their own pockets to each elderly resident. 

 

 

 

 

 

CabbyCare Donates $1,000 Taxi Vouchers to Singapore School for the Deaf

CabbyCare donated $1,000 worth of taxi vouchers to Singapore School for the Deaf in January 2012. The donation will help defray transport costs of two students.


 

CabbyCare Sends Chinese New Year Hampers to Home Nursing Foundation's Beneficiaries

Sixteen CabbyCare members delivered 108 Chinese New Year hampers to Home Nursing Foundation’s beneficiaries from 18 to 20 January 2012. 

 

 

 

ONGOING ACTIVITIES
These are ongoing community projects and services provided under the umbrella of CabbyCare:
Kindness-On-Wheels
The "Kindness-On-Wheels" initiative was launched on 29 March 2011 to provide free emergency taxi services for NorthLight School students. CabbyCare cabbies will also double up as deliverymen to send students home for free when they receive groceries by the public. Click here to read more.
Bread-On-Wheels
Launched on 28 May 2003 together with Food From The Heart (FFTH), cabbies distribute unsold bread from Sunshine Bakeries to five charitable organisations. They also provide free taxi trips to the volunteers from FFTH for bread distribution. Click here to read more.

Meals-On-Wheels
Since March 2006, CabbyCare has been providing free meal delivery two times a week for TOUCH Home Care’s Meals-On-Wheels Programme. CabbyCare cabbies will collect food packs from TOUCH Home Care’s office and deliver them to about 80 elderly staying in Toa Payoh, Bendemeer, Bishan and Serangoon Central. undefined
Donation to the Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF)
Since 2000, CabbyCare members have been making a monthly contribution of $20 to KDF to help the patients.


       
LoveCOPE

LoveCOPE is an ongoing community project led by the Marine Parade Community Development Council for the elderly residents living in Kampong Arang and Tanjong Rhu. St Hilda's Community Services Centre was invited to provide a range of services, including recreational activities, health checks and medical escort services to over 1,500 households in Tanjong Rhu. Our cabbies have been providing free transport to the senior citizens for their regular recreational activities.

Providing Free Trips to Volunteers Delivering Library Books
Since January 2009, CabbyCare members have been conveying volunteers delivering library books to the needy and disabled that are homebound free of charge . If you wish to be a CabbyCare volunteer for this project, please click here
 
Providing Free Trips for Needy Children and Elderly

CabbyCare also provides free trips to needy children and elderly to and from the home and hospital on a case-to-case basis.
