St Hilda’s Community Services Centre Chinese New Year Dinner

St Hilda’s Community Services Centre invited CabbyCare to its Chinese New Year Dinner celebration at Kampong Arang Civic Plaza on 11 February 2012.

 

CabbyCare Celebrates the Lunar New Year Together

CabbyCare members turned out in full force for its annual Chinese New Year Lunch at Qian Xi Restaurant on 11 February 2012. 

 

 

Free Meals and Ang Baos for the Needy

During Chinese New Year, CabbyCare 

in addition to delivering free meals to more than 40 needy and elderly residents staying in Geylang Bahru, the members also gave each of them a $20 ang bao and two mandarin oranges out of their own pockets to each elderly resident. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

ONGOING ACTIVITIES
These are ongoing community projects and services provided under the umbrella of CabbyCare:
Kindness-On-Wheels
The "Kindness-On-Wheels" initiative was launched on 29 March 2011 to provide free emergency taxi services for NorthLight School students. CabbyCare cabbies will also double up as deliverymen to send students home for free when they receive groceries by the public. Click here to read more.
Bread-On-Wheels
Launched on 28 May 2003 together with Food From The Heart (FFTH), cabbies distribute unsold bread from Sunshine Bakeries to five charitable organisations. They also provide free taxi trips to the volunteers from FFTH for bread distribution. Click here to read more.

Meals-On-Wheels
Since March 2006, CabbyCare has been providing free meal delivery two times a week for TOUCH Home Care’s Meals-On-Wheels Programme. CabbyCare cabbies will collect food packs from TOUCH Home Care’s office and deliver them to about 80 elderly staying in Toa Payoh, Bendemeer, Bishan and Serangoon Central. undefined
Donation to the Kidney Dialysis Foundation (KDF)
Since 2000, CabbyCare members have been making a monthly contribution of $20 to KDF to help the patients.


       
LoveCOPE

LoveCOPE is an ongoing community project led by the Marine Parade Community Development Council for the elderly residents living in Kampong Arang and Tanjong Rhu. St Hilda's Community Services Centre was invited to provide a range of services, including recreational activities, health checks and medical escort services to over 1,500 households in Tanjong Rhu. Our cabbies have been providing free transport to the senior citizens for their regular recreational activities.

Providing Free Trips to Volunteers Delivering Library Books
Since January 2009, CabbyCare members have been conveying volunteers delivering library books to the needy and disabled that are homebound free of charge . If you wish to be a CabbyCare volunteer for this project, please click here.
 
Providing Free Trips for Needy Children and Elderly

CabbyCare also provides free trips to needy children and elderly to and from the home and hospital on a case-to-case basis.
